Trustees Name New Deputy Superintendent

Administrator from Pasadena to Lead Business, Support Services

The Capistrano Unified School District Pappalardo.jpgBoard of Trustees has named John Pappalardo, Ed.D., the new Deputy Superintendent, Business and Support Services.

Pappalardo, currently the chief financial officer at Pasadena Unified School District, begins his new position on April 16, 2012.

“I am pleased that John has agreed to come to work for this District,” Superintendent Joe Farley said. “He is extremely knowledgeable about budgeting, finance, construction, and business and has a knack for sharing data in a clear and concise fashion that is easily understood. John will be a great addition to our team as this District moves from great to extraordinary.”

Pappalardo has been CFO in Pasadena since March 2009. Previously he has served as deputy superintendent in the San Gabriel Unified School District, and business services manager in the Fullerton Joint Union High School District.

He is also an adjunct instructor teaching graduate classes at California State University, Los Angeles, where he is also a member of the Educational Leadership Advisory Board.

Pappalardo earned his doctorate in educational leadership from the University of La Verne; a masters in management science from California State University, Fullerton; and a bachelors in business administration from California State Polytechnic University, Pomona.
