Our Commitment to Support all Students

Dear CUSD Families, Teachers, Administrators and Staff,

The Capistrano Unified School District incorporates nearly 200 square miles, seven cities and unincorporated areas throughout southern California and is charged with the education of 52,000 students. All children and families are valued and, as a public entity, we are here to support every child’s success.

Today, just as we have before, during and after every election, we must stand together to help every child succeed and ensure that all of our young people feel safe, supported and celebrated for their unique gifts. We expect that children will always find their classrooms and campuses to be a safe place for them to learn and grow.

The tone and tenor of this election season was, in many instances, divisive, mean-spirited and far below the values we hold as Americans. The dialogue that emerged from last week’s election may be spilling over and into our schools, classrooms and communities and may be impacting our young people.

I want to assure each of you that every child has our full support and that our teachers, principals and staff are here to help all of our young people and families. If you have any concerns or feedback, or if there is anything that you need, please reach out to your school site principal or contact my office.

I want to thank each of you for your dedication to our students each and every day. Together, we remain steadfast in our commitment to the emotional, social and academic health and wellbeing of all students.
